Business Analyst – BI/Analytics

About the role

As a Business Analyst, specialising in BI/Analytics, you will:

  • Preliminary work in projects to understand business needs, assess the business impact of these needs, capture, analyse and document the requirements
  • Ensure that both functional and non-functional requirements are captured and work closely with both service owners and architects when developing or changing IT Services
  • Express business needs in a way that enables the creation of IT Services whilst realizing the business value
  • Act as a “bridge” between different stakeholders to ensure to draw forth, analyse, communicate and validate requirements for development of, or changes to business processes
  • Support in the user acceptance test phase of the projects
  • Contribute and collaborate within the business analyst network
  • Build prototypes using BI/Analytics tools (Power BI, Cognos, SQL Server, etc) and support development phases when needed
  • Support, advice and guide users and self-service power users

About you

  • Master’s Degree in Science (Technology or Business)
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, in requirements gathering and hands-on work building analytics/business intelligence and data warehousing solutions
  • Solid business understanding for marketing and sales processes, alternatively logistics and manufacturing processes
  • Strong organisation skills, self-going and self-motivating
  • Demonstrated skills in requirement management, e.g. a IREB certification, is considered being an advantage
  • Experience in both back-end and front-end BI/DW tools. Experience developing solutions with the Microsoft tools (SSIS, SSAS and Power BI) and/or Cognos BI/Analytics is considered an advantage
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills in both verbal and written communication
